Nonlinear Dynamics and Vibration Control.

Dr. Pankaj Wahi, Department of Mechanical Engineering

My work basically focuses on aspects and artifacts of dynamics associated with non linearities. Most natural phenomenon and engineering applications are highly nonlinear in nature. These non linearities make the dynamics very rich and can be exploited for getting the desired output with minimal effort. I apply tools from dynamical system theory to problems in all areas of mechanical engineering viz. structures, fluid flows, heat transfer processes, manufacturing technologies and robotics. Our group works on developing low-order models to capture the essential features of these systems which can be used for better design of control systems.
