  • Dr. S.P Mehrotra, former Head Department of MSE & ACMS. will be conferred as 'Institute Fellow' this year, on Foundation Day- 2nd November 2018. Since every year, institute honors individuals including past faculty members for their immense contributions to IIT Kanpur.

  • Professor Anish Upadhyaya, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has been selected for "Pandit Ramachandra Dwivedi Chair" of IIT Kanpur with effect from 13 August 2018 for a period of 3 years (i.e till 12 August 2021).

  • Professor Kallol Mondal, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has been selected for "Satish Chandra Agarwal Chair" of IIT Kanpur with effect from 13 August 2018 for a period of 3 years (i.e till 12 August 2021).

  • Professor Anish Upadhyaya has been honoured as Fellow of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM). The fellowship shall be conferred on him during the National Metallurgist Day (NMD) celebration scheduled to be held at IIT Kanpur on 14th November 2016.

  • For the year 2016, Professor Sandeep Sangal has been selected for DISTINGUISHED EDUCATOR AWARD by the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM). The award shall be conferred on him during the National Metallurgist Day Celebration (NMD) to be held at IIT Kanpur on 14th November 2016.

  • Research paper authored by Mr. Abhinav Varsheney (PhD Student), Mr. D. Verma (Grad. Student), Prof. S. Sangal and Prof. K. Mondal in Transactions IIM has been adjudged for the IIM SAIL GOLD MEDAL. The award shall be presented during the National Metallurgist Day Celebration (NMD) to be held at IIT Kanpur on 14th November 2016

  • One of our former students, Mr. Akash Bajaj [BT (MSE) 2016], shall receive this year's IIM VIDYABHARATI PRIZE. This award is presented to the student graduating in the B.Tech. Program in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering with outstanding academic credentials.
