Internship

 The undergraduate students in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at IIT Kanpur apply for an internship program (usually after 2nd year, limited to winter or summer vacation only) to further his/her technical/research experience beyond what is gained during the undergraduate program at IITK.

Undergoing an internship is not an academic requirement for the undergraduate program at MSE Dept. in any way.

No Objection Certificate

A student planning to apply for an internship may have to provide the organization with a 'No Objection Certificate' from the department at the time of application or joining. The department will provide this letter only when the follwoing three forms are submitted:

(1) Declaration by Parents (Download)

• Once your parents sign on the form, they can Fax, or scan and e-mail it to you.
• e-mail the completed form to the faculty in-charge; contact information is given below.

(2) Declaration by Student (Download)

• Scan and e-mail the completed form to the faculty in-charge; contact information is given below.

(3) No Objection Certificate (Download)

• Fill this form (MS-Word document) and e-mail it to the faculty in-charge. It will be printed on the department letterhead before HOD's signature.
• Do not change the formatting of the form, however, delete the unnecessary words, blank space etc.
• Incomplete form will not be processed, and also, signature of HOD on this form will be given only when you send the completed Declaration-by-Parents & Declaration-by-Student forms)

Collecting NOC: Contact MSE Office in FB412 one week after you submit the two documents as mentioned above
