Applications are invited for a temporary position of Project Assistant in a sponsored project at the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur.

POSITION SUMMARY

A new project assistant position is available in the Decision Lab at Biological Sciences and Bioengineering Department at IIT Kanpur.

Full salary and benefits in accordance with Institute's salary guidelines are guaranteed.

NECESSARY SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a Master's degree holder in any field of biological sciences/bioengineering with following skills: trained and well versed with molecular biology techniques like - ELISA, PCR, DNA, RNA, Protein extraction and quantification.

Familiar with use of common lab instruments like Absorption and fluorescence spectrophotometers, ELISA plate reader, Nanodrop, pH meter, gel electrophoresis, etc.

Knowledge about carbon materials, biochemical sensing, and material characterization techniques like SEM, FTIR and XRD.

Basic skills in data analysis and coding would be preferred.

Should be motivated and willing to contribute to ongoing projects of the lab, which may sometimes involve going outside of the campus for procurement purposes.

Note: The position is purely temporary, for one year, but eligible for a performance-based extension.
