Position Overview

Organization: Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur

Title: Project Post-Doctoral Fellow (1 position)

Minimum Qualification: Ph.D (in Civil Engineering ) from a reputed university /institute and an excellent track record and publications.

Salary: INR 60000 - 5000 - 85000 (Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills)

Work Experience: Strong background in structural engineering with emphasis on large scale structural testing involving masonry structure, instrumentation, data collection, data analysis and interpretation of results through numerical simulations. Good knowledge of instrumentation and data collection for structural health monitoring of various structures. Strong background in structural analysis for modelling of complex structures in ABAQUS and OpenSEES. High ethical standards when performing data analysis and reporting results. Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary setting and collaborate closely with team members from other fields, learn about new technologies used in those domains and incorporate the acquired domain knowledge to create better models and prediction. Fluency in Matlab coding and use of Matlab for structural analysis.

Nature of position: Temporary / Contractual

Duration of appointment: The post is purely temporary. The initial appointment will be for 1 year and can be extended for another 2 years subjected to satisfactory performance.
