Applications are invited for the post of Project Post-Doctoral Fellow in a project entitled Full-body simulations of blood flow: realistic computations in the artery network spanning the entire human body. The appointment duration will be initially for a period of one year, which may be extended depending upon the performance. The appointment is purely temporary and on a contractual basis up to 2 years.
Name of the Post: Project Post-Doctoral Fellow
Number of Posts: 01 (one)
Consolidated Salary: INR 50000/55000/60000
Minimum Qualification: PhD (Chemical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Biomedical or any other branch of Engineering - see details below)
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join a collaborative project executed by Prof. Indranil Saha Dalal and Prof. K. Muralidhar at IIT Kanpur. The project involves performing realistic blood flow simulations in the network of major arteries in the human body. For these computations, various models for blood rheology and damage mechanics of the wall will be employed. An ideal candidate will have the following: -
- The candidate has a PhD degree from a reputed university/institute in Chemical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Biomedical or any other branch of engineering, with an excellent track record and publications/patents in a research area relevant to the project.
- With a good knowledge of computational tools in fluid mechanics, solid mechanics and code parallelization.
- Should have a prior experience with CFD/solid mechanics simulations in an HPC environment.
- Applicants with a good knowledge of blood rheology or damage mechanics of arteries will be preferred.
Interested candidates may send their soft copy application including the details of complete professional academic record (attach copies of certificates) and work experience to the undersigned on or before 22nd June 2021 by e-mail to the undersigned (indrasd@iitk.ac.in).
