Applications are invited for one Senior Project Scientist position in the sponsored project "Photocatalysis Employing Combination of Plasmonic Nanoparticle and Molecular Catalyst: Probing Spatiotemporal Interfacial Charge/Energy Transfer Dynamics" by Dr. Vishal Govind Rao (Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur).
The work involves
(i) Synthesis of plasmonic nanocomposites, functionalization of nanoparticles, and their characterization.
(ii) Utilization of nanocomposites as photocatalysts in the reduction of CO2 to produce energydense hydrocarbon.
(iii) Probing the mechanistic details of the charge/energy transfer dynamics at the interface using time-resolved spectroscopy and in situ surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS).
The post is purely temporary, and is for one year, could be extended for one more year depending on the performance of the candidate.

Essential Qualification: PhD + 2 years of relevant experience
Desirable Experience:
Ph.D. with 2 year of research experience in material chemistry/photocatalysis, spectroscopy/Plasmonics.
Candidates with experience in finite element method (FEM) simulations, COMSOL Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy will be given priority.
Consolidated Salary: Rs. 54000/-
