Applications are invited for the post of "Project Engineer" in the Project numbered 2017518 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur.

Position: Project Engineer

No. of positions: 2 (Two)

Minimum qualification: M.Tech in relevant field or B.Tech + 3 years of relevant exp., and demonstration of outstanding talent either in the form of projects and products in top tier companies, history of delivery of project outcomes as a student or as employees in previous jobs.

Consolidated Salary range: 26,400 - 2,200 - 66,000 INR per month.
Working hours: 9:00 am to 6 pm (Monday to Saturday).

Desired qualification (At least 3 out of the following)

• Solid understanding javascript frameworks like ReactJS, React-Native, Redux, React Router, etc
• Familiar with NodeJS, MongoDB, CouchDB, PostgreSQL, ExpressJS, etc
• Firm grasp of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
• Knowledge of functional programming
• Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
• Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
• Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
• Ability to work on deadline-driven projects

Work: The candidate's major tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
• Reach out to the open-source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things.

Duration: Appointment will be made initially for one year and can be extended up to five years or till the end of the project whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance. Performance reviews will be held weekly. The appointment can be terminated at any time if found unsatisfactory.
