Position: Project Scientist

Applications are invited for the post of “Project Scientist” in the Project numbered SERB/CS/2016466 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur.

Minimum qualification: 
Post Graduate degree (MSc/MCA) + 3 Years Relevant Experience.

Essential qualification and Skills required:

• At least 60% marks in academics

• Thorough knowledge of JSP/JavaScript/Java/MySQL Database/SQL.
• At least a year of Experience in working with node.js, angular.js, ember.js and related frameworks
• Good knowledge of Linux, PHP programming.
• Knowledge of CMS in general and Drupal in particular.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Experience in Cyber Security, in particular Web security
• Experience in handling research projects independently
• Ability to pick up new technology skills fast

Work description: The position entails working with cyber security engineers, students, and faculty to develop secure web applications, penetration testing of web applications, development of tools for security scanning, vulnerability detection, development of web security vulnerability mitigation techniques. It also entails development of scientific project reports, presentation, and making oral presentation. For projects with industry, the person in this position will also work closely with industrial experts in cyber security to develop products and ideas of products. The person will also supervise a team of programmers, and cyber security engineers.

Consolidated Salary range: INR 22000-2200-44000

Duration: Appointment will be made initially for one year and may be extended up to five years or till the end of the project whichever is earlier,  subject to satisfactory performance. Performance reviews will be held weekly. The appointment can be terminated at any time if found unsatisfactory. The post is purely temporary and on contractual basis.
