Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (one) in a sponsored Project entitled “Determining the primary magma composition of Rajmahal-Sylhet Traps mafic rocks: Inferences on the dynamics of large-scale mantle melting and formation of continental Large Igneous Provinces”.

Position:

Junior Research Fellow (ONE)

Essential Qualification:

B.Tech, Or Post graduate, Or Graduate + 3 years relevant experience in Earth Science/Geology with CSIR-UGC-NET or GATE

Desirable:

Degree in Earth Sciences/Geology from a reputed university/institute with an excellent academic record will be preferred
Research experience in Petrology/Geochemistry will be preferred
Experience/expertise in wet chemistry and XRF/ICP-MS analysis
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, good communication skills

Duration of appointment:

The appointment for the above post will be initially for a period of one year, which might be extended up to another two years or until the end of the project, if performance of the candidate is found satisfactory.
The post is purely temporary and on a contractual basis

Salary Range:

INR 37,000 + 18% HRA

Note:

No TA will be provided to candidates called for interview.
Suitable candidates without NET/GATE might be selected at INR 28,000 + HRA, as per rule.
