This is a field research worker role at the Just Transition Research Centre, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Kanpur. The field researcher will be responsible for collecting primary data from the field, conducting surveys, interviews, and site observations. This role is critical in gathering first-hand information, which will feed further analysis and reports. The role also requires close collaboration and working with research teams to ensure high-quality data collection and accurate documentation and processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting field-based primary data collection activities.
Ensuring that data are collected accurately, ethically, and in accordance with the Centre’s research methodology and guidelines.
Assisting with the identification and recruitment of research participants, including stakeholders in the communities, businesses, and government agencies.
Recording data, transcribing interviews, and maintaining detailed field notes for analysis by senior researchers.
Managing and coordinating with the field team.
Ensuring smooth data collection and storage and maintaining the integrity and security of data.
Other tasks assigned by the reporting authority.

Selection Criteria
Education	Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with relevant fieldwork experience.
Experience	Relevant fieldwork experience and field-based survey experience.
Skills and Competencies	Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) / SPSS. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with local communities and stakeholders. Knowledge of qualitative / quantitative data collection tools such as KOBO.
Personal Attributes	Detail oriented, excellent organization skills, and a proactive attitude. Has a good understanding of the Centre’s mission and purpose. Adaptable, resourceful, and solutions-oriented.
