Applications are invited for the position of Project Post-Doctoral Fellow under the project “Strengthening Regulatory Research & Network in The Power Sector” at the Centre for Energy Regulation (CER).Applicants are expected to hold a PhD in an appropriate area as mentioned below. The applicant should be self-motivated and highly collaborative researcher. The candidate is also expected to contribute towards various activities at the Centre/Dept. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English and an ability to work independently are essential. Research potential of the applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. The post is purely temporary and on contractual basis. The appointment would be initially given for one year, on an extension basis up to a maximum duration of two years.
Centre for Energy Regulation (CER)
The Centre is supported through a project on “Strengthening Regulatory Research & Network in The Power Sector” partly funded by the Government of United Kingdom under the Power Sector Reform (PSR) program. Strengthening of institutional capacity in the power sector is one of its main objectives.The Centre for Energy Regulation (CER) addresses the need to supplement regulatory research and knowledge base to understand and analyze key issues in the power sector. It would work in close cooperation with key stakeholders in the Indian power sector particularly the Electricity Regulatory Commissions (ERCs), the electric utilities and the academia. Utilising its knowledge base, the Centre also aims to contribute towards policy and regulatory advocacy based on regulatory research.

Detailed Minimum qualification and other terms for the above post are as follows:
Minimum Qualification:
PhD in an area relevant to modelling, economics, regulation and policy research in power/energy sector, from a reputed university/institute, and an excellent track record and publications in the relevant area.
Salary:
Rs. 50000/55000/60000/- pm consolidated
Others:
Subject to availability of appropriate funds, project investigator may approve reimbursement up to Rs. 1 lakh per annum towards travel and contingency expenses to the Project Post Doctoral Fellow.
Shortlisted candidates would be called for a presentation and a personal interview.

- A brief write-up about PhD research.

Note: Travel expenses up to 2-AC train fare by the shortest route can be reimbursed subject to submission of tickets. Air travel cost can be reimbursed up to the above limit. Accommodation can be made available on request at the institute's guest house (Visitor's Hostel) for attending the interview.
