Applications are invited for one position of Research Associate-1, initially for a period of one year (extendable depending on the performance) in the SERB sponsored project SERB/MATH/2022493 entitled "Development of a few Non-Parametric Methodologies" at IlIT Kanpur.

Duration: Initially for one year; may be extended further depending on performance.

Number of Positions: One

Minimum Academic Qualification: PhD in (Theoretical/Methodological Statistics)/PhD in Mathematics/PhD in Computer Science/PhD in Econometrics.

Desirable: The candidate MUST have prior research experience in Mathematical Statistics and Probability Theory. Excellent Mathematical skill (particularly, large number theory in infinite dimensional space and/or topology) with reasonably good proficiency in one or more programming languages (e-g. MATLAB, R, Python) is necessary. In addition, the candidate MUST possess excellent writing and communication skills.

Nature of job: The candidate may be required to develop/study statistical methodologies in non-Euclidean space and write research articles on the new findings related to the aforesaid topic.

Salary: 47,000 per month + HRA as per Institute norms.
