Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B. Tech or B.E.)

About the position/role:

This position will require the successful applicant to perform research into the noise generation mechanisms and aerodynamics of the propellers of small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). In particular, the Project Associate will develop innovative passive noise control techniques for propeller noise which includes trailing-edge treatments while ensuring satisfactory aerodynamic performance. Additionally, we will also develop a light-weight customized muffler solution for reducing noise emissions from small drone engines.

The project is largely experimental in nature and will require the Project Associate to set-up experiments in the controlled aeroacoustic wind-tunnel environment and onsite during UAV flight. He/she will be trained to take acoustic and fluidic dynamics measurements, and process the data.

Desirable: Candidates having some experience in wind-tunnel testing are particularly encouraged to apply.
