Applications are invited for the following position under the project undertaken in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, and funded under IMPRINT initiative. The post is purely temporary and on contractual basis. The required qualifications, experience and conditions are described below.

Designation	Senior Project Engineer

Nature of work	The incumbent is expected to work at the leading role along with other Doctoral and Masters students in an end-to-end study on design and development of pressure impulse generator. The work may involve CAD, CFD analysis using commercial software, experiments and modeling, data acquisition and analysis and development of the working prototype.
Minimum Qualifications	PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering OR M. Tech. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering and + 3 years of industry experience OR B. Tech. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engg and MBA with at least 4 years of industry experience Industry experience implies working in engineering position with responsibilities involving core mechanical engineering function (e.g. design, FEA, CFD analysis, tolerance analysis, CAD etc.)
Desired Qualifications	Should have a good academic record (greater than 8 CPI or 80% marks in Masters Degree).
	Should have good experience in design and optimization.
	Should have a good working knowledge of ANSYS, MATLAB, Inventor, Solid Works, FEMLAB & ABAQUS
Consolidated Salary Range	Rs. 32400-2700-81000 per month based on qualification. Also, accommodation on campus may be possible based on availability.
Duration of appointment	1 Year. Contract may be extended based on performance and availability of funding.
