Smart Materials Structures and Systems Laboratory (SMSS), IIT Kanpur is seeking passionate and motivated researchers/career professionals in the field of Robotics, Product Design, and Artificial Intelligence. Besides executing challenging R&D projects, the ideal candidate should have significant experience in conducting academic training, workshops, and seminars.

Name of the Post: Sr. Project Executive Officer

Salary: In pay band Rs. 70000-5000-200000

Term of Appointment: Temporary on a Contractual basis until the project ends.

Responsibilities: -

Execute R&D projects in the domain of Robotics, AI, Computer Vision, and HPC
Modelling, validating, fabricating, and prototyping robot design and associated functionalities.
Design, develop, and deploy Robot software architectures
Conduct courses, workshops, and seminars on advanced topics in Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, and AI.
Preparing and publishing research articles in peer-reviewed journals

Essential Skillset: The ideal candidate should have,

Good understanding of Mathematical modeling, Dynamic Modelling of Mechanical Systems, Statistical methods, and Probability theory
Experience in working with Robot Programming, Robot Architecture, ROS, Navigation stacks, and computer vision algorithms
Experience in robot design and development, prototyping, manufacturing, fabrication, and field deployments
Should have considerable (3+yrs) experience with Advanced Manufacturing (RP/3D Printing), New Product Design, and Development
Proficient (professional) in programming (Python, C++), hands-on with ML frameworks (TF, Pytorch)
Good knowledge of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and managing servers/clusters.
Prior experience working with humanoid robots such as NAO or similar robots is desirable
Good publications track record

Minimum Qualification: Ph.D. + 2 yrs. experience or M.E./ M.Tech. + 7 years of relevant experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Industrial), or related field.
