Applications are invited for temporary & contractual post of Project Engineer under the project entitled Centre of Excellence for Large Area of Flexible Electronics at IIT Kanpur at SCDT, IIT Kanpur.

Job Title: Project Engineer - Embedded Systems

Location: NCFlexE, IIT Kanpur, India

Minimum Qualification: M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation Computer Science, or equivalent OR B.Tech/B.E in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation Computer Science, or equivalent or + 3 years' relevant experience

As a Project Engineer in Electronics, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded systems, firmware, and FPGA-based solutions. This role involves working with microcontroller platforms such as AVR and ARM, and requires a solid understanding of both analog and digital electronics principles. You should be proficient in programming languages like C and C++, and have expertise in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). Additionally, you should be familiar with communication protocols such as UART, I2C, and SPI, as well as wireless communication protocols like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded software and hardware systems, including FPGA-based solutions, based on project requirements.
  • Write, debug, and test firmware code for microcontrollers, and develop code libraries for reuse.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, documentation, and release notes for products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Continuously learn and apply new technologies, sharing knowledge with team members.
  • Provide technical support for collaborators and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Implement FPGA-based designs for various applications.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++.
  • Strong knowledge of microcontroller platforms such as AVR and ARM.
  • Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), including design and debugging.
  • Knowledge of AFE design, including amplifier design, filter design, and analog-to-digital conversion.
  • Familiarity with basic communication protocols such as UART, I2C, and SPI.
  • Experience with wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Familiarity with wireless sensor networks and IoT applications.
  • Experience with developing and debugging firmware code for microcontrollers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design and development of analog front-end circuits for various applications, including medical monitoring devices, sensor interfaces, and wireless sensor networks for IoT applications.
  • Experience with PCB design and layout tools.

Salary: Rs. 31600-2600-78400/- (per month based on qualification)

Term of Appointment: The appointment will be purely on a temporary and contractual basis initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or end of the project, whichever is earlier
