Applications are invited for temporary & contractual post of Sr. Project Scientist under the project entitled “Centre of Excellence for Large Area of Flexible Electronics at IIT Kanpur” at Samtel Centre for Display Technologies (SCDT), IIT Kanpur.

Minimum Qualification: (PhD +1 year. of relevant experience) or (Postgraduate degree + 4 years of relevant experience)

Desirable Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or allied fields.

Essential Experience: Should have (i) Operated glove boxes to fabricate electronic devices, (ii) Used vacuum deposition system(s); (iii) Knowledge of slot die printing to help build printed organic semiconductor films; (ii) A working knowledge of solar cell behaviour and their performance parameters; and (iv) Capability of making measurements and analyse absorption spectrum measurements on thin films; current-voltage characteristics and spectral response measurements on solar cells. 

Desirable Experience: (i) At least two years of experience after Ph.D., preferably in labs other than the lab where the PhD work was carried out, thus having exposure to multiple working environments; (ii) Worked in in the field of organic solar cell fabrication, characterisation and reliability studies; (iii) Have a reasonable working knowledge of spectroscopic studies of thin film characterisation and to be able to interpret measured data; and/or (iv) Familiarity with reliability testing requirements of organic solar cells and modules.

Salary: Rs. 38800-3200-96400/- (per month based on qualification)

Term of Appointment: The appointment will be purely on temporary and contractual basis initially for a period of three years or end of the project, whichever is earlier
