About the Programme

Nurturing Faculty leadership programme

As India takes on a leading role in the global arena, the importance of strong and visionary leadership within Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) has never been greater.

The Nurturing Future Leadership Programme is designed to develop and strengthen leadership capabilities among faculty members - enabling them to guide, inspire, and create a culture of excellence in academia.

Leadership development among faculty not only prepares them for future administrative and governance roles but also enriches their teaching and research pursuits. By instilling leadership qualities in themselves and their students, faculty members contribute directly to the nation’s progress and innovation ecosystem

Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this initiative emphasizes:

  • Faculty excellence through recognition, rewards, and leadership opportunities.
  • Identification and development of potential leaders early in their careers.
  • Cultivation of institutional excellence and innovation through effective academic leadership.

The presence of committed and inspired institutional leaders is the need of the hour - leaders who can shape the future of education and nurture the next generation of changemakers.

Programme Objectives

Build an ecosystem to inculcate leadership skills in early-career faculty for institutional and personal growth.

Expand the national pool of academic leaders equipped for governance and administrative responsibilities.

Enable proactive faculty participation in shared governance, problem-solving, and initiative development.

Empower institutions to identify, assess, and nurture leadership potential among faculty members.
