IIT Kanpur campus is located on GT Road at Kalyanpur, about 16 Km. west of Kanpur city. If you are coming to Kanpur by train, please exit from platform no. 1. Unfortunately due to the varied arrival times of different speakers, we are unable to
arrange a taxi pickup for all of you. So please take a Taxi or an autorickshaw from the Station.
If you take an autorickshaw. The fare will range between Rs. 100 and Rs. 125 depending upon the time of your arrival.
The Taxi will cost about Rs. 170/- during daytime and Rs. 250/- after 10:00 pm and before 06:00 am.
Do not leave the Taxi or autorickshaw at the IIT gate !
Ask the driver to take you to the Visitor's Hostel (Guest House) where accomodation has been arranged for you.
You can find out about the trains arriving at Kanpur from your location at this website. The time taken to come from Kanpur Central station to the IIT campus is about 40 minutes.
If you are coming by air, the nearest airport is Lucknow, about 90 Kms from the IITK campus. Look for someone carrying
a placard for you with your name and /or IIT Kanpur written on it . It takes approximately an hour and a half to reach IIT Kanpur from Lucknow airport. You can check out for air tickets to Lucknow here,here or at this site. Again proceed to the Visitor's Hostel (Guest House) where accomodation has been arranged for you.
Upon your arrival at the Visitor's Hostel, you will be provided with an envelope with information for you regarding your
stay and the Workshop.
The workshop will be held in Lecture Hall no. L-14 in the Lecture Hall Complex which is about 10 minutes walk from
the Visitor's Hostel. On 27th Morning, there will be a vehicle between 0930 -1030 that will transport the
participants to the Lecture Hall Complex from the Visitor's Hostel. Please inquire at the reception for this.
If you would like to come by yourself, please refer to the maps in the links below. Get into the Academic Area through
Gate-3 and you will find the Lecture Halls jsut inside.
