Anjan Kumar Gupta
Ph.D. (University of Kentucky, 2001)
Dr. Anjan Kumar Gupta joined the department in 2003. He received his Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Kentucky (USA) on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) studies of high Tc superconductors. Other than studying some cuprate superconductors with STM he also developed a compact low temperature STM with a novel design. He was a post-doctoral researcher in the mesoscopic physics group of CRTBT-CNRS, Grenoble (France), where he worked on superconducting proximity effect using a 60mK-STM. In Grenoble, he was also involved in developing a combined AFM/STM for studying some hybrid surfaces.
His broad interests are in investigating the electronic, magnetic, optical, and various other properties of surfaces using the techniques of Scanning Probe Microscopy.
