R. Vijaya

Ph.D. (IIT Madras ) PROFESSOR

Dr. R.Vijaya joined IIT Kanpur in 2011. She has been associated with the department of Physics since Aug 2009 under the Inter-IIT Faculty Exchange programme. Prior to joining IIT Kanpur, Dr. Vijaya was a faculty member at the Department of Physics, IIT Bombay for several years.'

Vijaya is an experimental researcher with special interest in the emerging areas of Photonics. She has worked in the specific topics of Nonlinear Optics, Fiber optics and Photonic band gap materials.

Courses taught at IIT Kanpur: Quantum Electronics (Jan 2010), Optical Physics (July 2010), Classical Electrodynamics II (Jan 2011), Tutorials for PHY 103 (2009, 2010 and 2011).
