Tarun Kanti Ghosh

Ph.D. (The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, 2003) ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Dr. Tarun Kanti Ghosh joined the Department in 2008. He obtained his doctoral degree from the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, India working under the supervision of Prof. G. Baskaran. Subsequently he carried out postdoctoral research at the Abdus Salamn ICTP, Trieste, Italy, at the Okayama University, Okayama, Japan as a JSPS fellow and at the Heinrich-Heine Duesseldorf University, Duesseldorf, Germany as a Humboldt fellow.

He is a theoretical condensed matter physicist. His main research interests include theory of ultra-cold atomic gases (Bose-Einstein condensation, BEC-BCS crossover, correlated bosons in optical lattices) and low-dimensional electronic systems (fractional quantum Hall effect, quantum wires and dots). Currently, he is working on electronic and transport properties of graphene
