Ph.D. (University of Roorkee 1976) PROFESSOR
Dr. Rajendra Prasad joined the Department in 1984. He obtained his doctoral degree at the University of Roorkee, working under the supervision of Prof. S. K. Joshi. Subsequently he carried out postdoctoral research at Northeastern University, Boston, U.S.A. and as a Assistant Physicist at Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, U.S.A.
He is a Condensed Matter physicist, whose chief interest lies in the Electronic structure of disordered systems. Currently, he is working on hydrogenated silicon clusters, lithiated manganese oxides and magnetic multilayers. Dr. Prasad is also interested in molecular dynamics simulations and genetic algorithms.
He is a member of IPA, MRSI, APS and IAPT.Apart from core courses, he has offered electives like Mean field theories of disorder, Computer simulations in physics and Electronic structure of disordered materials.
