Selection Process:

Eligibility:

Final year students of the undergraduate programs (B.E/B.Tech/MBBS/Integrated M.Sc., etc.), master programs (M.Sc/M.Tech/ME) or PhD students are eligible to apply for the workshop. Postdoctoral fellows who are early into their work (within one year) are also eligible to apply. This year we plan to accommodate upto 50 students/young investigators. Students of the three year B.Sc program are not eligible.

Selection:

We will admit 50 applicants for the workshop this year. Selection will be based on the academic profile, motivation to attend the workshop and recommendation from referees. We are currently accepting applications (beyond the last date mentioned in the poster) - apply now!

Registration:

Applicants admitted to the workshop will have to register for the workshop by accepting offer and paying the registration fee.
Registration Fee: Rs 1000; includes conference meals, participation certificate, and a welcome kit (abstract book and other reading materials).
Boarding & Lodging fee for students coming from outside: Rs 1500 (revised); this fee covers shared accommodation in students' hostel for 4 days (December 16 to 19, 2016) and meals. Admitted applicants must stay within the campus.
Payment should preferably be made by demand draft, drawn in the name of "Registrar, IIT Kanpur", and payable at Kanpur (local students can also pay in cash to the contact persons). We may consider fee waiver for students who provide a signed letter justifying the need.

Boarding and lodging:

Admitted applicants will get shared accommodation (from 16th to 19th of December, 2016) within the institute. Applicants are expected reach the campus by 16th evening, and to leave by 19th evening. For details as to how to reach Kanpur, check here.

Weather:

December is the early part of the winter in Kanpur, therefore, the temperatures can range between 15-25 degrees during the daytime and between 5-10 degrees at night. All participants are advised to carry warm clothes, preferably a woollen sweater and a jacket, shoes and mufflers. We will provide a blanket and a bed-sheet in the hostel.
