Objectives of the Foundation

The aim of the Research-I Foundation is to foster research in the department. This is to be achieved by working on the following fronts:

 
 
 

Increasing the visibility of the department in the community :

    • The foundation supports international research workshops and Hari Sahasrabuddhe lecture series.

Attract good faculty and encourage them to do quality research :

    • The foundation has three Research-I Fellowships for young faculty, provides support to the faculty for conference travel, visits to research groups worldwide and partially funds their research.

Attract good PhD students :

    • The foundation provides additional fellowship to PhD students, supports their travel to workshops and conferences and supports their visits to research groups for extended periods.
