Oral Presentation
- The total time allotted to each speaker is 12 mins. You should plan to speak for 10 mins and 2 mins for questions.
- The talk will be judged based on presentation skills, slides design and questionnaire session.
- Slides must be clear and must convey information.
- Slides must not be crowded/ clustered and must not contain low resolution images.
- References may be put at the end or in slide itself as per requirement.
- There will be best oral presentation awards given separately for each of the different sessions based on their fields of research.
Poster Presentation
- Poster Can be designed using Microsoft Power Point or Photoshop.
- Authors are requested to use good quality paper and printing of their choice.
- Poster should contain, "Title, details of authors and their affiliation, introduction, experimental, results and discussions, conclusions and references wherever applicable".
- Please ensure that the front size of the text in poster is readable. Contents should be readable from at least 3 ft distance.
- Colour schemes can be used as desired and should aid readability of contents.
- Use figures (TIF/JPEG) with clarity.
- Multiple columns can be used if required.
- Leave ample border around the poster for ease of sticking on the display board.
- There will be best poster awards given separately for each of the different field of research.
Memellurgy Contest
For those who enjoy sarcasm, satire, and science, here's your opportunity to demonstrate your memetic prowess!
Rules for Memellurgy Contest:
- The meme should not be vulgar in any sense.
- All the memes will be uploaded on the Facebook - MSE Page.
- Participants can upload the meme through the circulated form.
- The meme should be related to the MSE Engineering Branch and/or Department.

Evaluation criteria:
- 50 % marks will be evaluated by meme page admin of memes_of_meta.
- 25 % marks will be evaluated by the Judge.
- 25 % marks will be evaluated on the basis of maximum likes.
Metallography Contest
- Micrographs may be in colour or black and white which shall be pasted on a base white sheet of A4/A3 size only
- On the front side the entry should contain an attractive caption, brief description of the micrograph (Max. 30 words)
- Roll no. names and affiliation details should be on the back side of the entry Micrographs submitted for the contest shall be of good quality with micron marker and based on the original work of the contestants – Details of the Micrograph should also be mentioned.
- Colour schemes can be used as desired but editing is strictly prohibited.
- Organizers reserve the write to reject any inappropriate and incomplete entry
- An individual can submit max. 4 micrographs
3 Minute Thesis (3MT)
3-minute thesis presentation is one of the events of RSD'23 in which students from Ph.D., M.Tech, BT-MT and B.Tech are supposed to give a 3-minute brief talk to explain their thesis work and its effectiveness in today's scenario. It challenges students to present their research in a clear, concise, and engaging manner to an audience.
Rules for 3MT
- The time allotted will be not more than three minutes.
- Use visual aids such as slides (maximum one slide) or videos to help explain your research and make it more engaging.
- Emphasize the importance and impact of your research on the audience.
