Different Categories

    Here we give a summary of the Candidate categories  (other than General Category) and the procedures for their admission in Postgraduate Programmes For these Categories the General Rules are follow and the rules for the respective category Candidates are:-
1) Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) Candidate and the Defence Personnel
           Have to satisfy the prescribed minimum marks and qualifications.
2) Indian Nationals Residing Abroad (INRA) and Foreign Nationals
           must have been residing abroad continuously for at least 1 Year.
           Non-sponsored foreign national Candidates in India.
           must satisfy the same GATE requirements as the General Category.
           or on a merit Basis.

Admission to External Registration Programme for Ph.D.:-
   
       A candidate working in an R & D establishment which is equipped with the necessary research and library facilities may be considered for admission only to the Ph.D. programmes in engineering. Such a candidate must be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organizations for at least 2 years at the time of admission. The employer must expressly undertake to pay full salary to the candidate and relieve him/her to stay on the campus to enable the candidate to complete his/her residence requirements.
4) Sponsored Candidates
           sponsored by his/her employer.

       This is the Programme, so it is a
