While
employing temporary life guards they should be tested for following
capabilities:
(i)
Various
swimming skills,
(ii)
Ability
to help a drowning swimmer,
(iii)
Provide
proper first-aid as and when required,
(iv)
Keep
their calm in emergency situations, and
(v)
Have
adequate communication skills.
9.
The
selection committee for hiring temporary lifeguards must include experts in
appropriate areas.
10.
To
become a member of swimming pool one will have to produce a certificate from a
qualified doctor certifying that the applicant is fit for swimming.
