Apala Banerjee, Ph. D student under the guidance of Dr. M. Jaleel Akhtar, has received the First prize in the Best Female Student Paper Award Category in the International Microwave and RF Conference (IMaRC) 2021 for her work tilted "Wireless CSRR Based Planar Sensing System for Sensitivity Evaluation of Dielectric Materials in Nearfield ISM Band".

IMaRC is the flagship conference of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) which is held annually in India for the international academic, scientific and industrial community working in the broad areas of RF and Microwave Engineering.

The Award consisted of a Certificate and a cash prize that was given to all the awardees.
