Apala Banerjee, Ph. D student under the guidance of Dr. M. Jaleel Akhtar, has received the First Runner Up prize in the Best Female Student Paper Award Category in the IEEE Microwaves, Antennas, and Propagation Conference (MAPCON) held during Dec 12-14, 2022 for her work tilted "Design of Slotted Microwave Sensor for Evaluation of Water Quality" co-authored by Abhishek Kumar, Nilesh K Tiwari and M Jaleel Akhtar.

IEEE MAPCON is the flagship conference of the IEEE, jointly organized by the Microwave Theory and Technology (MTT), and the Antennas and Propagation (AP) Societies in India for the international academic, scientific and industrial community working in the broad areas of RF and Microwave engineering.

The Award consisted of a Certificate and a cash prize that was given to all the awardees.
