EPP has three courses for participants of three levels.
- Practical English: Learning and Teaching
To register, use the electronic form
[during 15 Feb to 15 Dec 2019, two hours class once (Mon/Fri, 4-6 pm) a week for classroom registrants;
self-paced for online participants, can start any time].This is the mainstream EPP course developed for professionals, teachers of schools and colleges, and college students. It also serves as an illustration for school teachers on how to teach English as a life-skill and not merely as a marks-carrying subject.
This course starts from a basic level and proceeds at a rapid pace to take the participant up to a professional level of English language.
It has been executed several times in online as well as classroom versions.
It has been offered several times at different scales over different durations: one year, four months, and also as a one-month crash course involving six contact hours per day.
- Basic English
To register, use the electronic form   [Duration: 15 Feb to 15 Dec 2019, two hours class once (Mon/Fri, 4-6 pm) a week].
This is for those participants who find the pace of the Practical English too fast and its coverage too vast.
This course has been delivered only thrice to three different groups.
It has, as of now, only a classroom version; and there is no immediate plan to port it to an online version.
Against demand, it can be given any time to a group of students in a four-month or one-year version, with different levels of coverage.
- Language and Style of Scholarly Communication
This is the most advanced course developed by EPP. This includes all four modules of the mainstream Practical English course, and in parallel covers advanced elements of scholarly communication skills and elements of style.
Till now, this course uses a mix of classroom and online elements, and has been given only to IIT Kanpur students as a semester course, every semester since Jan 2017. In near future it is likely to be converted to a complete online course for students and research scholars of other institutes and universities.
