At IIT Kanpur, the National Service Scheme unites passionate students dedicated to serving their communities, fostering social progress, and making a real difference. One of its remarkable initiatives is the Vigyan Gyan Mela program. Rather than simply teaching, the program ignites curiosity by using the magic of everyday science phenomena to empower school students across the Uttar Pradesh state.

  • Science Tours: Students from local schools visit the Sopan Ashram, where they engage in hands-on science experiments, witness demonstrations, and learn about practical applications of scientific concepts.
  • Exploring Science: Seeing science in everyday phenomena that creates fascination in the kids' lives to pursue science and engineering for the greater good of society.
  • Interactions with HC Verma: Students participating in the event get the chance to meet one of the greatest professors and great explainers of science as every engineering knows him, Dr. Harish Chandra Verma.
