Prof. Aditya K. JagannathamProf. Aditya K. Jagannatham received his Bachelors degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, San Diego, U.S.A. From April '07 to May '09 he was employed as a senior wireless systems engineer at Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, California, where he was a part of the Qualcomm CDMA technologies (QCT) division. His research interests are in the area of next-generation wireless cellular and WiFi networks, with special emphasis on various 5G technologies such as massive MIMO, mmWave MIMO, FBMC, NOMA, Full Duplex and others. He has contributed to the 802.11n high throughput wireless LAN standard and has published extensively in leading international journals and conferences. He was awarded the CAL(IT)2 fellowship at the University of California San Diego and the Upendra Patel Achievement Award at Qualcomm. He is currently a Professor in the Electrical Engineering department at IIT Kanpur, and is also associated with the BSNL-IITK Telecom Center of Excellence (BITCOE). At IIT Kanpur he has been twice awarded the P.K. Kelkar Young Faculty Research Fellowship (2012-2015, 2015-2018) for excellence in research and the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship (QInF). His popular video lectures for the NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) course on Advanced 3G and 4G Wireless Mobile Communications can found at the following YouTube link ( NPTEL 3G/4G ). He has also successfully conducted several Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on various topics such as Applied Game Theory, MIMO OFDM Wireless Systems, Probability and Random Processes, Signals and Systems, Principles of Communication Systems, which have been widely adopted and appreciated. A book authored by him titled Principles of Modern Wireless Communications Systems has been published by McGraw Hill Education and comprehensively covers several key aspects of modern wireless technologies.

Mr. Akshay AggarwalMr. Akshay Aggarwal is the Director of Technology for MediaTek and is based out of Bangalore. In this role, he is responsible for working on next generation product development with key focus on modem technology. His current focus area is 5G NR. With over 19 years of semiconductor industry experience in Design engineering, business development and product marketing, he has worked extensively with global R&D teams and several Tier-1/2 customers including some in India. Akshay joined MediaTek Inc in 2010 as Senior Technical Manager, and during his 4 year stay in Taiwan he held multiple senior positions in the Wireless Communications Products Group before moving into his current role in India. Prior to this role, he has worked in the United States for several renowned companies including Lucent technologies, Silicon Labs, ST-Ericsson among others, where he was primarily involved in R&D (design engineering) and global marketing roles. Akshay holds various patents and publications and has also presented in multiple conferences. Akshay graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and pursued his master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh US. He has also pursued and completed the Executive MBA program from University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Tanumay DattaTanumay Datta is currently working in Wireless R&D, Qualcomm Bangalore. He received his PhD degree from Electrical Communication Engineering department, Indian Institute of Science in 2014. Previously he has worked as a post-doctoral fellow in Centrale Supelec, France. His work experience and research interests include 5G technologies, massive MIMO, detection algorithms, and advanced modulation techniques.
