As alumnae of IIT Kanpur, we cherish the values, friendships, and opportunities that continue to shape our journeys. Today, we have the chance to pass that gift forward to the next generation of women scholars.

The Alumni Scholarship for Girl Students is IIT Kanpur's first community-driven scholarship initiative, uniting alumni and well-wishers to support deserving young women whose families face financial constraints but do not qualify for existing government fee-benefit schemes.
In its inaugural year FY 25-26, the initiative supported 20 girl students with scholarships of ₹50,000 each, creating a meaningful impact through collective giving. A total of ₹10 lakh was utilized to support these scholarship recipients.

Your contribution can help a deserving girl continue her IIT Kanpur journey with greater confidence and focus.

20 more girl students in FY 26-27 | ₹75,000 scholarship per student

The Alumni Scholarship for Girl Students aims to bridge this gap by:

  • Providing scholarships to meritorious girl students in B.Tech. and 2-year Master’s courses.
  • Supporting those who fall outside government support norms but still face genuine financial challenges.
  • Enabling young women to pursue academics without the burden of financial stress.
  • Promoting holistic growth and development alongside academic excellence.
