Over the last four decades, the Class of 1980 has contributed generously a sum of INR. 1.738 crores to the institute. This valuable benefaction has been of immense help to the institute in creating 69-80 Outreach building, 3 Student Scholarships, 3 student awards, 1 Faculty Award, providing travel grant to the students for attending International Conferences, Cash awards to students for publishing research papers in reputed journals, various research activities for Academic Departments, support towards various schools in the campus, Medical Emergency Fund, Alumni Memorial Fund, contract workers and mess workers welfare fund and supporting Students-Undergraduate Research Graduate Excellence (SURGE) program at IITKanpur.
