Instituted under IITK's Distinguished Lecture Series, this annual event will bring eminent researchers, innovators, and leaders from academia, science, technology, and public service to engage with the entire IIT Kanpur community. Offered to the Department of Chemical Engineering—one of the Institute's founding pillars since 1959, renowned worldwide for pioneering contributions in chemical engineering and interdisciplinary innovation—the series commemorates the life and work of Prof. Santosh K. Gupta (B.Tech., IITK, 1968—President’s Gold Medal; Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania, 1972).
His commitment to mentoring students is exemplary and truly a hallmark of his career. An authority in Polymer Reaction Engineering and Optimization, Prof. Gupta authored influential books, mentored generations of engineers, and was honored with Fellowships of INAE, NASI, IISc Academies, and the IITK Institute Fellowship (2021)
