Brief Overview:

IIT Kanpur welcomes the brightest minds and boldest thinkers of tomorrow. We believe that no cost should prevent a student from joining IIT Kanpur and it is our responsibility to ensure that the expenses fit your family's unique circumstances. We are grateful to our alumni Mr Praveen Kumar Srivastava (BT/CE/2005) for his support and efforts towards establishing "सहयोग" – A Financial Aid Initiative". We are pleased to share that this initiative will surely make the initial onboarding journey of a new student seamless till they settle down in the campus and begin their life changing path towards excellence in academics at IIT Kanpur. The financial assistance rendered to the new students through this aid will help them to amp up their dream at IIT Kanpur.

Our endeavor is to support 100 students every year, and with your support we aspire to raise Rs. 2.50 crores through this initiative. Accordingly, 10 batches of students will be benefitted and a total of 1000 students supported.

What we plan to offer:

Selected students will be eligible for a onetime aid of Rs. 25,000 covering the following components partially.

Support road/train travel cost for the students & parents from hometown to IITK at the time of registration

Support the accommodation for the student & parents during registration

03

Support the non-refundable fees to be paid during admission other than tuition fees/hostel/mess

04

Support the miscellaneous expenditure of the student towards settling at the hostel room.

Impact on 1st year students:

Attract students to join IITK

Ease financial burden on parents and students

Students can concentrate on academics

Motivate them for giving back

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 1st year bonafide undergraduate students of BT & BS programs who have completed their registration and paid the 1st semester fees.
  • Annual Family income from 0 to Rs. 1 lakh.
  • No CPI or JEE AIR restrictions.
  • The students will be supported with the help of the generous funds collected through this campaign.
  • The selection will be done by Dean of Student Affairs, IIT Kanpur.
