Student Scholarships & Academic Opportunities

Expanding Access, Exposure and Excellence

IIT Kanpur’s student community is defined by talent, ambition and the ability to contribute far beyond the classroom. Yet meaningful academic growth often depends on opportunities that are not equally accessible to every student.

The Student Scholarships & Academic Opportunities opportunity brings together scholarships, travel grants, student exchange programmes and awards within one integrated support framework. Its purpose is to ensure that financial circumstances do not limit a student’s ability to study, participate, compete, collaborate or represent IIT Kanpur on national and global platforms.

Through philanthropic support, students can gain access to experiences that deepen learning, broaden perspective and strengthen their confidence to pursue ambitious academic and professional paths.

Enabling Talent to Go Further

A scholarship can allow a deserving student to focus more fully on education. A travel grant can help a researcher present work at an international conference. A student exchange can provide exposure to new academic environments, cultures and ways of thinking. An award can recognise excellence and encourage a student to continue pursuing difficult goals.

These interventions may appear different, but they serve a common purpose: helping students make the most of their potential.

For many students, the difference between being selected for an opportunity and being able to accept it comes down to financial support. Student Scholarships & Academic Opportunities seeks to close that gap by making high-value academic and developmental experiences more accessible.
