The IIT Kanpur experience extends far beyond formal coursework. Students learn through lectures and projects, but also through clubs, cultural activities, sports, peer interaction and the communities they build across campus.

The Student Learning and Engagement Spaces initiative brings together lecture halls, the Student Activity Centre extension and upgraded sports facilities within one integrated opportunity. Its purpose is to create modern, inclusive and future-ready environments that support academic learning, creativity, collaboration, leadership and well-being.

Through philanthropic support, IIT Kanpur can strengthen the spaces in which students exchange ideas, develop new interests and participate fully in campus life.

As IIT Kanpur’s student community grows, its academic and co-curricular infrastructure must expand with it.

Modern lecture halls are essential for contemporary teaching, large classes, seminars and academic exchange. Student activity spaces are needed to support the Institute’s many clubs, councils and organisations. High-quality sports facilities contribute to physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and mental well-being.

New and upgraded lecture halls will support growing student intake and evolving teaching practices. Technology-enabled classrooms can improve interaction, enable hybrid learning and provide flexible settings for lectures, workshops, conferences and collaborative academic activities.
