IIT Kanpur hosted its 57th Convocation on 29 June 2024. The institute conferred degrees upon 2,332 graduating students from a wide range of disciplines. IITK welcomed back a distinguished alumna, Prof. Jayathi Murthy, who currently serves as the President of Oregon State University, USA, as the Chief Guest for the convocation. Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Board of Governors (BoG) member, and Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, presided over the event.

Beyond the prestigious President's Gold Medal, Director's Gold Medals, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Medal, and Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize, the convocation recognized student excellence across various fields. Proficiency medals and the IIT Kanpur Excellence Awards were presented for contributions in Community Services, Leadership in Student Affairs, and Art & Cultural Activities, alongside numerous other awards and medals acknowledging achievements in specific academic disciplines.
