Centre of Excellence in Specialty Chemicals at IIT Kanpur (Prof. Jayant K Singh, Chemical)
Specialty chemicals, such as surfactants and polymeric coatings, are vital for applications in-home care, agrochemicals, and CO2 sequestration. The Indian surfactant industry relies heavily on imported advanced specialty surfactants, making it vulnerable to global market changes. To tackle these issues, the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has established the first Center of Excellence (CoE) for specialty chemicals at IIT Kanpur.
