In addition, our engagement with industries include also

• Licensing of patents and transferring of technology. We have a well-defined IPR policy in this matter, which we have described in the next section.

• Testing of material characteristics. IIT Kanpur is home to large number of state of the art experimental facilities, which are available for usage. A nominal user fee is charged which essentially meets the expenditure for maintaining the facility and any other recurring expenditure.

• Variety of academic programs customized to needs of industry. These programs include, industry sponsored post-doctoral research fellowship, full/part time Masters/PhD programs leading to a degree, short-term courses customized for meeting the specific needs of industry and hands on training program on operation and maintenance of variety of experimental facilities.
