Message by PI

There is a need for a massive restructuring of policies to address the transition to a low carbon economy in India. The sustainable and just energy transition requires a synergy of top-down and bottom-up approaches assured through an optimal mix of several policy tools. We should start a dialogue with the formal and informal workforce of the coal economy to get their awareness and perception of climate change and energy transition. Thus, we are conducting grassroots research to obtain grassroots knowledge and share the experience with key stakeholders.

Mission

Directed towards SDG, the centre seeks to conduct social research in the field with scientific rigor moored in strong theoretical frameworks.

Vision

Bring back the public and ethical concerns like justice and fairness to the policy making dynamics around the interrelated and the most pressing issues of our time: climate, environment and energy

The centre aims to explore existing and emerging methods to strengthen the policy outcomes
