We are pleased to announce that ICFMCF2023 is organizing a workshop titled “Theory Building in Big Data Driven Research in Management” on 7th July 2023 as part of the conference programme for all the registered participants. The workshop will be conducted by Prof. Arpan Kumar Kar. The workshop will enable the participants to appreciate how computational intensive methods and multi-method approaches can be used across management disciplines for inductive theory building.
Prof. Arpan Kumar Kar
Prof. Arpan Kumar Kar is Amar S Gupta Chair Professor in the Information Systems area in the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. He holds a joint appointment in the School of Artificial Intelligence.
As of 2022, he has authored over 200 peer reviewed articles and edited 9 research books. He has published over 55 publications in top journals (journals higher than ABDC A, ABS 3 and Web of Science Q1 journals) like International Journal of Information Management, Information Systems Frontiers, Information Technology and People, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, European Journal of Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Decision Analysis, Annals of Operational Research, Journal of Knowledge Management, etc.
For his research impact, he has received the Research Excellence award based on highest Web of Science citations in India for the period 2015-2020 from Clarivate Analytics. He is a recipient of the Basant Kumar Birla Distinguished Researcher Award based on count of ABDC A* / ABS 4 level publications between 2014-2019. He is also a recipient of Best Seller Award from IVEY Cases and Harvard Business Publishing in 2020.
He is the Editor in Chief of International Journal of Information Management Data Insights, published by Elsevier, which is a scientific journal focused on Data Science. He is also Associate / Coordinating Editor in Journal of Public Affairs (Wiley), International Journal of Electronic Government Research (IGI), Information Systems Frontiers (Springer), Advances in Theory and Practice of Emerging Markets (Springer) and Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management (Springer). He has been a guest editor for journals like International Journal of Information Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Information Systems Frontiers, Australasian
