Art for me is about self-expression. At the same time, as a socially conscious artist, I like to depict the
human condition, with all its banalities, compulsions and predicaments.
IITK alumnus,Mr. Ranjan Kaul (BT/CE/1977) is a professional visual artist, art writer, published author and founding partner of the art blog www.artamour.in. Based in New Delhi, he has held three major solo exhibitions of his paintings at the India International Centre Art Gallery, New Delhi (November 2017); Lalit Kala Akademi Art Gallery, New Delhi (February 2019); and at the Arpana Art Gallery, New Delhi (May 2019). He has also participated in several group art shows as an invited artist. Besides painting and writing, Ranjan Kaul had a successful career in book publishing and served as Managing Director of Oxford University Press India. After his B.Tech. (Civil Engineering) from IIT Kanpur, he undertook postgraduate studies in product design at Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Bombay and completed his MA in English Literature from the University of Delhi. His published fiction includes a novel, Through the Forest, Darkly (Hachette, 2010) and a collection of short stories, Silent Realities (Niyogi Books, 2016).
