Class of 1979 Young Faculty Fellowship
Mr. Alok Agarwal (BT/EE/1979) instituted the Class of 1979 Young Faculty Fellowship that is open to all the departments of engineering and sciences at IIT Kanpur.
Mr. Alok Agarwal is an Equity Partner and Non-Executive Director at Modulus Alternatives Investment Managers Limited. He is an accomplished professional with a notable career spanning over four decades. He joined Reliance Industries Limited in 1993 and served as its Chief Financial Officer for over 18 years. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in managing the Reliance Group's financial resources, overseeing banking relationships and facilitating capital market transactions. Prior to Reliance, he was with Bank of America for 12 years. Mr. Agarwal holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.

Prof. Abheejeet Mohapatra

Prof. Abheejeet Mohapatra from the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, has research interests in power system security, uncertainty modelling, optimization, renewable energy integration, and power system planning. He has received several honours, including the INAE Young Engineer Award (2021) and the POSOCO Power Systems Award for the Best PhD Dissertation (2014). He has also led consultancy projects for NTPC NETRA, metro rail systems, and industry. He obtained his M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Prof. Rahul Mangal

Prof. Rahul Mangal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. His work focuses on investigating dynamics and other relevant physics of Artificial Active Matter with the goal to use the artificial micromachines as controllable cargo carriers. His research work was featured as Editors pick in Physics of Fluids, and he won Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) Young Engineer Award 2020, a coveted recognition for exemplary research contributions. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University working in the area of Polymer Nanocomposites. He did his post doc working in Liquid Crystals at University of Wisconsin Madison, USA.
