Dr. Dipak Kumar Giri is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Kanpur. Previously, he was a DST INSPIRE Faculty at the same institution from 2018 to 2020. He has postdoctoral research experience from Singapore-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Research and Technology (SMART), Singapore, and UNIST, South Korea. Dr. Giri's research focuses on spacecraft dynamics, control systems, and flight control. Over the years, he has contributed more than 80 journal and conference papers. He has also played a key role in establishing the Space Dynamics and Flight Control Laboratory at IIT Kanpur. His research contributions have been recognized with awards such as the Young Engineers Award by IEI, the DST INSPIRE Faculty Award, the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship by the European Union, and the Sakura Science Fellowship by the Government of Japan. Dr. Giri has served as an Associate Editor for major conferences like ACA and ACODS. He is also involved in delivering courses like the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) course on Spacecraft Dynamics and Control, supported by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the NPTEL course.
Dr. Somnath Jha is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at IIT Kanpur. His areas of interest in Mathematics are Number Theory & Arithmetic Geometry. He is a recipient of the INSA Medal for Young Scientist, 2018 , INSPIRE Faculty award , DST, 2014 and Associate of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore, 2017.. He received his PhD from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai in 2012. He was also a JSPS postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mathematics at Osaka University from 2012 to 2014 .
