Dr. Rajeev Gautam (BT/CHE/1974) instituted the Rajeev and Joyce Gautam Young Faculty Fellowship. Dr. Gautam retired in 2021 as President & CEO of Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT), concluding a distinguished 43-year career. Under his leadership, PMT became a $10 billion global business offering advanced materials, process technologies, and automation solutions. He also served as President of Honeywell UOP, a leading provider of refining and petrochemical technologies, and as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of both UOP and PMT.
Dr. Gautam began his career with Union Carbide in 1978 and joined UOP through a joint venture in 1988. He played a key role in the development and commercialization of catalytic and separation technologies widely used in the refining, petrochemical, and gas processing industries. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIT Kanpur.

Prof. Dipin S Pillai

(Dec. 2024- Dec. 2027)

Prof. Dipin S. Pillai from the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, has research interests in interfacial instabilities, electrohydrodynamics, active droplets, nonlinear dynamics and pattern formation. A prominent aspect of his research involves developing reduced-order models for physico-chemical transport phenomena. He completed his B.E. (Hons.) from BITS Pilani Goa Campus in 2010, Ph.D. from IIT Madras in 2016 and post-doctoral fellowship from University of Florida, Gainesville. His honors include the INAE Young Associate (2024), the Institute Research Award at IIT Madras, and the Dhirubhai Ambani Undergraduate Fellowship (2006).
