Jeet Singh Bindra Distinguished Lecture Series

Mr. Jagjeet Singh Bindra currently serves on the Board of Directors of HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd. He has previously held board positions at several international companies, including LyondellBasell Industries, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Petroleum, Transfield Services Australia, Transocean, WorleyParsons Australia, GS Caltex Korea, and Edison International (and Southern California Edison).
A Chemical Engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur, Mr. Bindra received his Master's degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1970 and later completed an MBA (Honors) from Saint Mary's College of California.
Mr. Bindra spent 32 years at Chevron Corporation, rising from a research engineer to President of Chevron Global Manufacturing (2004-2009), where he oversaw operations of more than 19 refineries worldwide. He has also served as Chair of the IIT Kanpur Foundation (USA) and instituted the Jeet Bindra Distinguished Lecture Series in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Kanpur.

Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant

Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant delivered a lecture on "Redefining the Future of Energy: Sustainable Pathways and Technological Innovations". An IIT Kanpur alumnus with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, he is currently the Director of IIT Roorkee. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, clean energy, sustainable resource recovery, and circular economy technologies, with an emphasis on carbon-efficient solutions for India's energy and environmental challenges. He has led several major national and industrial projects in areas such as coal-to-chemicals, green hydrogen, carbon capture and utilization (CCU), and waste-to-wealth technologies, contributing to pilot-scale developments including plastic-to-fuel, e-waste pyrolysis, and coal-to-methanol conversion. With an h-index of 78, Prof. Pant is a Fellow of INAE, NASI, and the Royal Society of Chemistry, and continues to advance innovation and technology translation in India's sustainable energy sector.
